Card meaning

The story of the Four of Swords feels a little out of place for the Swords suit. It is one of the most positive cards of the suit, and deals with the relaxation and mental clarity that is a reward of wielding a sword.

But this is just a temporary reprieve, the eye of the storm, a truce, but not a win that guarantees peace. Now is the time to enjoy your serenity and recuperate, because pretty soon it will be time to get up and go back to battle.

Remember that the power of the Sword can be used to both harm and heal. Take the time you need to recover now, so that you’ll have the strength to conquer your next challenge.

When the Four of Swords shows up in a reading, it is a good time to put down your sword, take off your armor, and take a minute to breath, while keeping in mind that there is no such thing as permanent rest unless your bed is a coffin. Just remember that this break is temporary; the worst is still to come.
